Nonimmigrant visas offer temporary residence in the United States. Nonimmigrant visas
are available in a variety of categories such as students, visitors, professional and
religious workers. The requirements for each visa varies and each visa differs in the
kinds of privileges they offer, as well as, how long they last.
Our office is prepared to handle your situation. We have a great deal of experience with
the following visas listed below:
-
B-1 VISA
The B visa is a visitor’s visa.
-
F-1 VISA
The F-1 visa is designed to allow temporary entry for a principal alien intending to pursue a
full course of study, at a school approved by the Attorney General.
-
H-1B VISA
The H-1B visa is designed for “specialty occupations” which are defined under law as jobs that
require a professional who has the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in their field of specialty.
Examples are doctors, engineers, professors, accountants, researchers, medical personnel and
computer professionals.
-
K-1 VISA
The K-1 nonimmigrant visa category permits the fiancé(e) of a U.S. citizen petitioner to enter
the United States for a 90-day period to marry the petitioner and apply for permanent residence.
The K-1 has been called a “hybrid” visa since it is a nonimmigrant classification that is
designed to facilitate the admission of intending immigrants. Thus, K visa processing is similar
to immigrant visa processing for immediate relatives. Additional, K visa processing can take
longer than processing for other nonimmigrant visas since it entails the submission and
consideration of comprehensive biographical and admissibility data at two stages of the process,
rather than a single stage.
-
L-1 VISA
The L-1 visa is designed for intra-company transferring of executives, managers and employees
with specialized skills to transfer from a foreign company to a U.S. office, subsidiary, or
affiliated company to perform temporary services. Executives and managers are issued L-1A visas
whereas employees with specialized skills are issued L-1B visas.

religious organization in the U.S. coming temporarily to work solely as either:
-
A minister of that denomination;
-
In a professional capacity in a religious vocation or occupation for that organization;
-
In a religious vocation or occupation for the organization or its nonprofit affiliate.
-
TN VISA
The TN visa is designed for citizens of Mexico and Canada under the North American Free Trade
Agreement (NAFTA).

who invest in the other country or who conduct trade between the two countries.
