Mr. Chávez graduated with magna cum laude honors with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from
Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas in 1982. Mr. Chávez received his Juris Doctorate Degree from
Washburn School of Law in 1985 and is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
Biography
Mr. Chávez practices in all areas of immigration law including Deportation and Removal as well as
Employment-Based Immigrant and Nonimmigrant visas. He has extensive experience with matters involving
Deportation and Removal and waivers of inadmissibility.
Additional Information
Mr. Chávez was admitted to the Kansas State Bar in April 1991 and to the Nebraska State Bar in 1992.
He has been a member of the American Bar Association since 1991 and a member of the American Immigration
Lawyers Association (AILA) since 1993. He has been a faculty member at both local and national AILA
seminars. He has lectured on topics regarding deportation/ removal, adjustment of status and visa
consular processing.
